Playing
I have played rugby since the age of 6, and all through school, winning Under 15’s and Under 18’s provincial schools challenge cups. Played Under 19 for Blackrock College RFC. Played for University College Dublin, St Mary’s College, London, Bective Rangers and Blackrock College, both in Dublin. Moved to the US and played for Pittsburgh Rugby Club, playing for a National Championship in 1987. Primarily played Full Back, Outside Center and finally Fly Half
Philosophy
The game has to be fun. Losing is never fun but the pure pleasure of playing is my primary goal. Friendships and camaraderie are an essential part of the game of rugby, both within your own club and with those that you do battle.
Coaching is essentially bringing the joy of the game played well to new players. If the game is played well, with a winning positive mentality, rugby is the best fun available.
